Scope and Contents

This collection contains issues of the Escanaba Morning Press and Escanaba Daily Press from March 23, 1909 to December 31, 1951. The paper initially did not publish an edition on Mondays. Starting in October 1947, they changed their day off from Mondays to Sundays.

There are many missing issues. Below is a complete list. In some cases, the "missing" issues are from the day of or the day after a holiday. They are listed for the sake of completeness, but an issue may simply not have been published on that day. -1909-08-11 -1909-08-20 -1909-09-01 -1909-11-26 -1909-12-26 -1910-01-02 -1910-03-01 to 1910-05-25 (inclusive) -1910-07-27 to 1910-09-30 (inclusive) -1910-11-25 -1910-12-27 -1911-01-01 to 1911-03-01 (inclusive) -1911-03-11 -1911-06-25 -1911-07-05 -1911-09-05 -1911-12-26 -1911-12-31 -1912-01-02 -1912-04-27 to 1912-06-30 (inclusive) -1912-07-05 -1912-09-03 -1912-10-01 to 1912-10-04 (inclusive) -1912-11-29 -1912-12-25 to 1912-12-27 (inclusive) -1913-01-02 -1913-01-16 -1913-04-15 -1913-04-22 -1913-04-23 -1913-05-31 -1913-07-01 to 1913-07-03 (inclusive) -1913-07-05 -1913-09-02 -1913-09-03 -1913-09-13 -1913-10-19 -1913-10-22 -1913-10-30 to 1913-12-31 (inclusive) -1914-01-02 -1914-02-28 to 1914-03-05 (inclusive) -1914-03-07 -1914-05-31 -1914-07-05 -1914-07-07 -1914-07-29 -1914-09-08 -1914-11-27 -1914-12-26 -1915-01-02 -1915-01-17 to 1915-01-22 (inclusive) -1915-06-01 -1915-07-06 -1915-09-07 -1915-11-02 -1915-11-26 -1915-12-26 -1916-01-02 -1916-01-09 -1916-02-10 -1916-05-31 -1916-07-01 to 1916-08-31 (inclusive) -1916-09-05 -1916-12-01 -1916-12-26 -1917-01-02 -1917-05-31 -1917-07-05 -1917-07-12 -1917-07-13 -1917-09-04 -1917-11-01 -1917-11-06 -1917-11-30 -1917-12-07 -1917-12-26 -1917-12-28 -1917-12-29 -1918-01-01 -1918-01-04 -1918-01-10 -1918-01-13 -1918-04-07 -1918-04-12 -1918-04-23 -1918-07-05 -1918-08-18 -1918-09-01 -1918-09-03 -1918-09-08 -1918-11-29 -1918-12-26 -1919-01-02 -1919-02-15 -1919-03-01 -1919-03-02 -1919-04-26 to 1919-04-30 (inclusive) -1919-07-05 -1919-09-02 -1919-11-28 -1919-12-25 -1920-01-02 -1920-07-06 -1920-09-01 -1920-09-02 -1920-09-07 -1920-10-30 -1920-10-31 -1920-11-02 -1920-11-26 -1920-12-26 -1921-01-02 -1921-04-17 -1921-05-31 -1921-07-05 -1921-09-06 -1921-11-25 -1921-12-27 -1922-05-11 -1922-05-26 -1922-05-31 -1922-07-05 -1922-09-05 -1922-11-01 -1922-11-07 -1922-12-01 -1922-12-26 -1923-01-02 -1923-03-01 -1923-05-31 -1923-07-05 -1923-09-04 -1923-09-07 -1923-11-30 -1923-12-26 -1924-01-02 -1924-09-02 -1924-11-07 -1924-11-28 -1924-12-26 -1925-01-02 -1925-06-30 -1925-07-05 -1925-09-08 -1925-11-27 -1925-12-26 -1926-01-02 -1926-06-24 -1926-07-06 -1926-09-07 -1926-11-26 -1926-12-26 -1927-01-02 -1927-01-30 -1927-07-05 -1927-09-06 -1927-09-11 -1927-09-16 -1927-11-30 -1927-12-25 -1927-12-27 -1928-01-03 -1928-07-05 -1928-09-04 -1928-11-30 -1928-12-26 -1929-01-02 -1929-01-17 -1929-07-05 -1929-09-03 -1929-11-29 -1929-12-26 -1930-01-02 -1930-07-05 -1930-09-02 -1930-11-28 -1930-12-26 -1930-12-27 -1931-01-02 -1931-07-05 -1931-09-08 -1931-11-27 -1931-12-26 -1932-07-05 -1932-09-06 -1932-11-25 -1932-12-25 -1932-12-27 -1933-01-03 -1933-07-05 -1933-09-05 -1933-12-03 -1933-12-26 -1934-01-02 -1934-07-05 -1934-09-04 -1934-11-30 -1934-12-26 -1935-01-02 -1935-07-05 -1935-09-03 -1935-11-29 -1935-12-26 -1936-01-02 -1936-07-05 -1936-09-08 -1936-11-27 -1936-12-26 -1937-01-02 -1937-07-06 -1937-09-07 -1937-11-26 -1937-12-26 -1938-01-02 -1938-07-05 -1938-09-06 -1938-11-25 -1938-12-27 -1939-01-03 -1939-07-05 -1939-09-05 -1939-11-24 -1939-12-26 -1940-01-02 -1940-07-05 -1940-09-03 -1940-11-22 -1940-12-26 -1941-01-02 -1941-07-05 -1941-09-02 -1941-11-21 -1941-12-26 -1942-01-02 -1942-07-05 -1942-09-09 -1942-11-27 -1942-12-26 -1943-01-10 -1943-07-06 -1943-09-07 -1943-11-26 -1943-12-26 -1944-01-02 -1944-07-05 -1944-09-05 -1944-11-24 -1944-12-26 -1945-01-02 -1945-07-05 -1945-09-04 -1945-09-05 -1945-11-23 -1945-12-26 -1946-01-02 -1946-07-05 -1946-09-03 -1946-11-29 -1946-12-26 -1947-01-02 -1947-05-31 -1947-07-05 -1947-09-02 -1947-11-27 -1947-12-25 -1948-01-01 -1948-05-31 -1948-07-05 -1948-09-06 -1948-11-25 -1948-12-25 -1949-01-01 -1949-05-30 -1949-12-26 -1950-01-02 -1950-05-31 -1950-07-05 -1951-01-01 -1951-05-30

ABOUT THIS COLLECTION GUIDE

This collection guide includes collections from member organizations of UPLINK (the Upper Peninsula Digital Network) as well as the Central Upper Peninsula and Northern Michigan University Archives. UPLINK collections document the history of the Upper Peninsula broadly, while the Central UP & NMU Archives focuses on such topics as Northern Michigan University history, the local iron mining industry, and the politics, economics, religion, environment, and culture of the Central Upper Peninsula region.

These finding aids will give you an overview of the contents and context of each collection. Finding aids only exist for collections that each organization has shared with UPLINK or (in the case of the NMU Archives) for processed collections. For a more comprehensive list of collections that might help with your research, please contact the relevant heritage organization(s) directly.
