Biographical / Historical

In 2006, the Thompson Township Historical Advisory Committee installed a state historic marker and five interpretive panels about the history of Thompson. The panels describe the logging industry in Thompson, the related mill and shipping industries, and the famous Christmas Tree Ship shipwreck. (See the Christmas Tree Ship collection for more information on the shipwreck.)

This collection guide includes collections from member organizations of UPLINK (the Upper Peninsula Digital Network) as well as the Central Upper Peninsula and Northern Michigan University Archives.
