Summary

This interview is of a group of Italian Americans from Hancock, Michigan, each giving their memories. The first to speak is Ann Lucchesi Marcheschi, who gives the family history and shares memories of growing up. She also discusses the many jobs held by her father, Caesare Lucchesi. Georgia Nelli Lucchesi, Ann's sister-in-law, speaks next and talks about her own parents. Lin Marcheschi, Ann's husband talks about his parents and their immigration to New York City. He discusses the Depression, his memories of the town, and his marriage to Ann. The next to speak is Blanche Pizzi Girardi, whose given name was Bianca. She talks about her parents and mining. They all discuss cheese making. The last to speak is Bernice Gemignani Lorenzetti. She talks about boarders in the house, moonshine and rum running. She also talks about Caesare Lucchesi's transport and restaurant business. Later, they discuss Italian Lodges, holidays, winter, the mine strikes and Italian food.
