Caroline Glacherio discusses her childhood in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania, where her father came from in Czechoslovakia, why her family moved to Ironwood, Michigan, mining, her grandparents, school, their Finnish neighbors and their drinking habits, home medical remedies, farming, transportation, friendships with Finnish children, stores in Ironwood when she was a child, religion, holidays, the depression, how she met her husband, Slavish newspapers, Prohibition, and her family's restaurant.
