Summary
Paul Altobello, born May 8, 1913, discusses growing up in Ishpeming, Michigan. Topics include the Italian community in Ishpeming, food, holidays, mining, bootlegging, early telephones, delivering groceries, local restaurants, crimes and murders in the area, the St. Rocco Society, speaking Italian, the police, relationships between different ethnic communities, ethnic neighborhoods, and the Ku Klux Klan.
There is another unidentified male voice on the tape besides interviewer Russell Magnaghi.
