Scope and Contents

This collection consists of five ledgerbooks that were donated by the Marquette County Clerk's Office. These ledgerbooks contain an indexed alphabetical listing of the names of the nurses whose licenses are included.

Ledgerbook 1 contains documents entitled "Record of Certificate of Registration of Nurses-State of Michigan" covering the time period March 27, 1911 through October 14, 1935. Attached to the front page inside the cover is a "Certificate of Registration of Trained Attendant" issued by the Michigan Board of Registration of Nurses and Trained Attendants to Carrie Beyer on March 30, 1922. Attached to the back page inside the back cover is an affidavit signed by Deputy County Clerk Alice Beckman on October 27, 1922 ceritifying that Jacob S. Fine is entitled to hawk, vend, and peddle goods, wares, and merchandise within the State of Michigan.

Ledgerbook 2 contains documents entitled "Record of Certificate of Registration of Nurses-State of Michigan" covering the time period October 7, 1935 through November 9, 1945.

Ledgerbook 3 contains documents entitled "Record of Certificate of Registration of Nurses-State of Michigan" covering the time period November 9, 1945 through May 25, 1954.

Ledgerbook 4 contains documents entitled "Michigan Board of Registration of Nurses and Trained Attendants" covering the time period May 27, 1954 through November 12, 1958.

Ledgerbook 5 contains documents entitled "Michigan Board of Nursing" covering the time period November 20, 1952 through May 12, 1958.
