Scope and Contents

This collection contains records created by the Northern Michigan University chapter of Pi Omega Pi as well as records created by the national organization from the opening of the chapter in 1967 to 2006. It includes bylaws, certificates, correspondence, records of events, a history of the fraternity, meeting minutes, photographs, reports to the national organization, and pamphlets about the fraternity. Of particular interest to researchers is a scrapbook documenting the activities of the fraternity and its members from the 1960s to the 1990s.

Biographical / Historical

Pi Omega Pi is an honors society for business education teachers that seeks to promote scholarship and service. It was founded in 1923 at Northeast Missouri State Teachers College and today (2015) has forty chapters at universities around the country. The Northern Michigan University Chapter was established in 1967 and continues to exist today.
