Biographical / Historical

Judith DeMark was a history professor at Northern Michigan University from approximately 1994 to 2001. She was born in Weston, West Virginia, on November 7th, 1941, but grew up in Orlando, Florida, where she met her husband-to-be in August, 1963. She married Raman DeMark in November of 1963 and traveled extensively while her husband was on active duty in the US Navy. She received her PhD in history from the University of New Mexico and taught American history at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan for eight years. She also taught at New Mexico State University and Central New Mexico Community College. After her retirement from Northern in 2001, she and Raman moved back to Albuquerque. She died of colon/liver cancer in 2009.
