Historical Note

The Carpenters Union affiliated with the American Federation of Labor was chartered in 1903 and headquartered in Escanaba, Michigan. The union was known as the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local 1832 chapter, but is now known as the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters and Millwrights Local 1510.

This collection is arranged into eleven series: Correspondence, Bylaws, Agreements, Meeting Minutes, Legal Files, Reports, Publications, News Clippings, Ledgers, and Awards. The Correspondence and Meeting Minutes are organized by organization name and then chronologically. All other series are organized alphabetically.

Gift received from Mike Donnelly in 1998.

Separated Materials Note

The original union charter of 1903 has been separated from the collection, encapsulated, and transferred to flat storage within the archives at location 6-2-1.
