The collection is separated into series each of which covers one calendar year of publication.

This collection, MSS-266, Collection of "The Nishnawbe News" newspaper, consists of printed copies of The Nishnawbe News which was published at Northern Michigan University from July 1971 through October 1983. The editions maintained in this collection run from 1971 through 1982 and is not all inclusive.

The collection also consists of numerous letters of tribute written to Craig from staff and former students. All materials are dated 1963.

This collection contains government documents relating to the dams and other hydroelectric projects on the Dead River in Marquette County, Michigan, with a focus on the environmental impact of these projects and the programs in place for monitoring and assessing effects on the environment. Another prominent topic in the collection is the 2003 failure of the Silver Lake Dam.

Of particular note is the interview's coverage of the 1949 H.W. Gossard Company Garment Workers Strike in Ishpeming, Michigan. The collection also includes copies of a scrapbook and photographs. The collection's materials cover the range between 1946-1990.

This collection contains the papers of Donald F. Dreisbach, a Northern Michigan University Professor of Philosophy. His papers include manuscripts and drafts of articles he has written (most of which are concentrated on the works of Paul Tillich), his dissertation work, and his faculty evaluation forms. The materials range from the years 1969 to 1998.

This manuscript collection contains the memorabilia of Helen and Ebba Eklund and their time at Northern, spanning from 1925 until 1941. It is comprised mainly of documents and papers for Sorority events, Rush day and other college-related social events. The collection also contains lists of the college courses and copies of Northern newspapers from 1925-27 and 1934-38.

The collection was originally a black paperbound scrapbook, containing materials dating from 1923 to 1925. Ms. Mather collected programs of commencements, plays, and concerts. Also included are dance cards, letters of invitation, dance memorabilia, and an assortment of class instructions and teaching guides from Northern State Normal School for Fall 1924 and Spring 1925, and several photographs of of Ms. Mather's friends and classmates.

MSS-388 consists of records from Ely Township. The records are mainly ledgers. One box contains ledgers from the Ely School District; the other three boxes concern the running of Ely Township, including ledgers with board meeting minutes, financial records, and township audit reports.
