Scope and Contents

The Wesley Williams scrapbook documents the Calumet community and mining industry through newspaper clippings, political cards and community club invitations. The scrapbook was compiled around 1950, and its contents range from the 1910s to the 1940s. Prominent topics include the Calumet and Hecla copper mining strike of 1913-1914 and the Italian Hall disaster.

This collection consists of Northern Michigan University memorabilia. Items include photographs of homecoming (1949), basketball and football teams, and the Tri Mu Fraternity; a homecoming program for 1948, a commencement program from 1981, copies of Horizons, and a personal scrapbook. The materials date from 1948 to 1993.
